A 10-minute chair massage can do wonders to relieve stress and tension and alleviate neck and shoulder pain. Through the OSU Health Plan, departments can request complimentary, on-site chair massages for benefits-eligible faculty and staff once a year.

Who can participate in chair massage?

This benefit is a once a year benefit available to all benefit-eligible employees.

(Benefit-eligible = staff eligible to receive benefits through The Office of Human Resources).

How many people can participate in chair massage?

Scheduling requires a minimum of 12 benefit-eligible participants and a max of 16 benefit-eligible participants. Larger departments can schedule more than one time per year in order to accommodate everyone.

What is the timeframe for a chair massage event?

Our chair massage events are scheduled for 10:00 a.m.– 3:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

What space is needed for a chair massage?

Make sure event location space is private, uncluttered, and at least 8x8 (the size of an area rug). Please reserve event space beginning 30 minutes prior to and extending 30 minutes following your scheduled event time to allow for set up and break down. Note: the therapist often arrives 5 to 10 minutes prior to event start time ensuring the space is available and ready will decrease delays.
